Nectar is an interactive floor lamp that incorporates movement by allowing the user to “play” with the rods surrounding the bulb. The rods have the ability to sway, creating a delightful interaction between the light and the colored circles.
Nectar was constructed from steel rods, laser-cut acrylic circles, cement, and 3D-printed parts. The color was applied to the cement base using acrylic paint and the color on the acrylic circles was applied by attaching colored film to each side. The 3D-printed parts were used to attach the acrylic circles to the ends of each steel rod.
